Vegetable Oil

What is vegetable oil?
Vegetable oil is oil obtained from beans, seeds, or other plant-based sources.

The use of vegetable oil dates back many years, even thousands of years. Ancient cultures such as those in China, Mexico, and Egypt already used vegetable oil for cooking food.

The most well-known and commonly used types of vegetable oils are palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed (or canola) oil, and peanut oil. Other oils include olive oil, corn oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, and rice bran oil.

Color and flavor
There are many different types of vegetable oils. Some oils have a very neutral smell and taste, while others have a distinctive aroma and/or flavor.

Application
Vegetable oil is widely used in the food industry for products such as frying oil, sauces, dressings, and in the production of cookies, among others. Different types of oils are needed for different kinds of preparations. For example, olive oil is not suitable for deep-frying, and peanut oil has a very specific aroma and taste. Therefore, always get proper advice when choosing the oil that suits your needs.
